Maharashtra: Petrol price in 3 districts crosses INR 100-mark/litre

The oil companies across the country did not change the price of petrol and diesel for 18 days in a row during the Assembly polls in five states until May. However, soon the election results came out, the fuel rates have seen a spike 14 times so far.

Petrol and diesel prices have increased sharply across the country. As a result, it has been observed that in 30 out of 36 districts of Maharashtra, the price of petrol has inched closer to INR 100-mark.

The petrol rates in Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Wardha, Chandrapur and Palghar are likely to cross the INR 100/l-mark with the next hike.

With the latest hike on Thursday, May 27, the petrol prices in Thane and Navi Mumbai crossed the INR 100-mark. It is retailing at INR 100.06 per litre and diesel price is also at a record high of INR 91.99 per litre.

While, in Mumbai, the petrol price is just six paise from touching INR 100 per litre mark. A litre of petrol in Mumbai will not cost INR 99.94 and diesel will be sold at a new high price of INR 91.87 per litre.

With this, Parbhani sells petrol at the highest rate at INR 102.30, followed by Nanded at INR 102.16 and Nashik at INR 100.38.  

Moreover, diesel price is also at a record high of INR 91.99 per litre in Thane and Navi Mumbai. The highest diesel rate across the state is INR 93.34 in the Amravati district. While diesel is being sold at INR 91.87 per litre in Mumbai.

In this month, the petrol price has gone up by INR 3.28 per litre and diesel by INR 3.88 per litre.

Petrol prices in other districts of Maharashtra:

Chandrapur - INR 99.84/l

Wardha - INR 99.92/l

Palghar – INR 99.74/l

Pune – INR 99.89/l
