The Consortium of Indian Petroleum Dealers (CIPD), after a meeting, have called the shots to keep all the petrol pumps shut down every Sunday. This will be enacted after 10th May. As trivial this decision may sound, but the kind of trouble it would be spelling would be huge. As per CIPD, the problems of the Oil Dealers even after conducting a meeting last year in November and this year in March, have not been solved yet. CIPD further added that in case if there is no action in this regard even after keeping the petrol pumps shut on Sundays, it may make a declaration to keep them shut in the night as well. This would impact 4000 petrol pumps in Maharashtra which includes 223 of Mumbai alone.
