According to accounts, Raut remarked that the unions can wish to do whatever they want. During his conversation with the media persons, the energy minister elaborated on how the MVA government is not for the privatization of power supply companies.

Based on narratives, Raut had called for a meeting with the union representatives on Tuesday to discuss their woes. Earlier on Monday, the minister conducted discussions through video conferencing with the union representatives. He urged the employees to withdraw their strike to ensure farmers, students as well as industries were inconvenienced.

The Maharashtra government has invoked the Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act (MESMA) to hinder the state-run power company's employees from partaking in the two-day nationwide strike called by trade unions

Raut also urged the employees to not participate in the strike owing to the high temperatures, shortage of coal and the financial constraints faced by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company. He was quoted in reports elucidating how he is ready to hold physical discussions.

He said he was ready to take a step forward, provided they do the same. However, since the union has not called off the strike, he will not conduct the meeting on Tuesday. He uttered that the government is that of the people thus they will conduct their responsibilities accordingly.
