A prominent consideration for those looking to partake in international travel these days is the cost of the rapid RT-PCR test undertaken at the airport. The cost of the said test differs from airport to airport.
According to reports, the rapid test at Kochi airport costs INR 2,490, whilst that at the Kolkata airport costs INR 4,000. Mumbai airport, on the other hand, charges INR 4,500. On December 4, however, the prices were curtailed to INR 3,900.
CSMIA has revised the rates of Rapid PCR (Fast track), and the passengers can now avail this test at a reduced cost of INR 3900, as against INR 4500 earlier.

Those travellers who largely go through the rapid tests are one’s flying to Dubai since they must take the rapid test six hours prior to the departure. Apart from this, after the Omicron-related norms came into force last week in Maharashtra, many passengers from “at-risk” countries coming to Mumbai have been choosing to do the rapid test.
This is because they can’t leave the airport or get to the connecting airport till their test results are proclaimed. Based on accounts, on December 3, 969 passengers underwent the RT-PCR test, from which 755 chose the rapid RT-PCR test, mentioned the Mumbai Airport.
While the usual RT-PCR test report takes 6-8 hours, it costs under INR 1000. The rapid RT-PCR test report comes in 13 minutes – 2 hours.
