Actor Salman Khan's father Salim Khan and senior actress Waheeda Rehman in a meeting with Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, demanded the removal of the toilet that is located right in front of their house. Mayor Vishwanath Mahadeshwar, on the other hand, stated that he would definitely take actions to remove the toilets in case those have been installed there illegally.

Earlier, Salman had written a letter to the Mayor of the city, requesting the removal of the toilet, as a result of which, the corporator for the West/H has issued orders to a commissioner to take action in this regard.  As per the assistant commissioner in his report, it was not the toilet per se that the people were against but the nuisance created because of these. He further added in his report that since Band Stand is a tourist spot, hence it is imperative that the area has a toilet.

On the other hand, Salim Khan and Waheeda Rehman explained it to the mayor in the meeting that the installation of a toilet there is illegal and prior to building a toilet, the suggestions of the residents are always recorded, but this did not happen for them.

It stands to be noteworthy that BMC in a campaign against people going to the toilets in the open had taken help of Salim Khan’s son Salman Khan and the whole campaign was backed by Salman Khan’s NGO ‘Being Human’.
