Swine Flu has affected the city quite gravely this year. Around 107 cases were registered in the month of June, alone. Unfortunately, three people have lost their lives this year. 177 cases have been registered in the last six months.

Recently, a 63-year-old woman and a 75-year-old woman lost their lives to Swine Flu on June 7. The former suffered from fever for about 3-4 days and had trouble breathing for a few days. Later, she was admitted to a BMC hospital on June 4. After running a few tests, the doctors detected Swine Flu. By June 7, she succumbed to her illness.

The 75-year-old senior citizen had cardiac issues for a while. As she had trouble breathing, she was taken to the hospital and unfortunately, she lost her life.

Doctors say that the deaths occurring due to Swine Influenza go hand in hand with other diseases which affect people during old age.

In June 2016, 482 cases of malaria were reported and 166 in June 2017. 14 people suffered from Dengue this year. This number went up to 48 last year. From January to June 15, 128 people were affected by dengue.
