The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has said that residents of Thane will have their water supply cut off for 12 hours on Thursday, October 1 as the civic agency has to perform routine maintenance work as well as repairs at the Naupada-Kopri region (Thane East).

The water cut will come into effect at 9 AM on October 1 and stretch until 9 PM the same day. Some areas will see a complete cut-off during the 12-hour stretch. Areas around Kanhaiyanagar Jalkumbh, Dhobighat Jalkumbh (including Koliwada) will reportedly be affected.

The TMC clarified that cross-connection works will be conducted at the aforementioned Kanhaiyanagar Jalkumbh and Dhobighat Jalkumbh in Kopri. This is to be done so as to avoid the disruption of SATIS (Station Area Traffic Improvement Scheme) in the region. The authorities also said that a major water pipeline leakage has been spotted near Kashi Aai temple, which will also undergo repairs.

Keeping the water-cuts in mind, authorities have asked residents to conserve water for at least two days so as to not cause any panic or excessive hoarding when the water supply is restored late on Thursday night.
