COVID-19 Vaccination: TMC, KDMC suspend the inoculation drive today; NMMC to conduct at 3 centres only

According to reports, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) and the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) on Thursday, August 26, suspended the COVID-19 vaccination drive.

This decision by the civic body comes due to unavailability of the vials. Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and surrounding regions are currently facing an acute vaccine crunch.

Besides, it has come to light that the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has decided to conduct the drive only at three centres today, August 26. The inoculation drive will be operational at the General Hospitals in Vashi, Nerul and Airoli for the day between 9 am to 5 pm.

The NMMC has announced that only those due for their second dose of Covaxin can get their jabs in the civic body limits.

In addition, due to acute shortage of vaccines in the city, the BMC has restricted the COVID-19 vaccination drive to 39 centres only today, August 26. Moreover, the BMC has suspended the drive-in facility for two days in a day row for those above 45+ in Mumbai.
