A water pipeline near Parel burst out during the morning hours of Thursday, July 12 and caused a traffic slowdown at the Parel-TT flyover. The burst caused a traffic jam on the flyover and resulted in a long queue of vehicles. The vehicles were forced to use a diversion due to the traffic jam.

The reason behind the pipeline burst has still not been reported and the repair work has been initiated. The flyover has been temporarily shut down to fix the pipeline and the traffic is being diverted to Naigaon Cross Road.

While the pipeline burst caused inconvenience to the travellers, lakhs of litres of water was also wasted. The vehicles arriving from King Circle were diverted to B.A. Road, Matunga.
