Indian cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has been named the captain of Rajasthan Royals after Australian captain Steve Smith stepped down from captaincy due to the ongoing controversy of ball tampering by the Australians.

The Australian Cricket Team is having a difficult time due to the infamous ball tampering incident during the third Test match against South Africa. The Australian team until now was ill-reputed for on-field sledging but now this will be an addition to their misdoings.

The ICC imposed a hundred per cent fine on the match fee and gave Smith a one-match ban. Apart from this, Cameron Bancroft has been charged with a 75 per cent fine on the match fee. Due to which, yesterday Steve Smith had stepped down from the captaincy of Australian team for the third test against South Africa and today from the captaincy of Rajasthan Royals.

The ball tampering incident has sparked rage all over the cricketing world and team Australia is being criticised for this unsporting act.
