Indian skipper, Virat Kohli passed the YoYo test with flying colours along with former captain, MS Dhoni and will be a part of the two-match T20 Internationals against Ireland which will take place on June 27 and 29. However, middle-order batsman Ambati Rayudu, despite having a fantastic IPL season, failed to clear the fitness test after he finished below the permissible 16.1 score.

Almost all the players including skipper Virat Kohli have comfortably cleared the qualifying mark for the YoYo test. Ambati Rayudu is the only player in the UK-bound squad, who has failed to clear the fitness test. His score is well below the permissible 16.1 set for the India and India A team. Rayudu will be dropped from the squad,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.

After a year and a half, Rayudu was making his ODI comeback in response to his remarkable IPL season this year where he scored more than 600 runs. Rayudu performed below-par in the range of 14 in the YoYo test.

Whereas Suresh Raina, who had failed to clear the fitness test last year, has comfortably passed it this year. While Rayudu might not be part of the squad touring England, there might be a fair chance of Raina making his way back into the Indian ODI squad.

The tour of England, comprising three T20 Internationals, three ODIs and five Test matches, will begin from July 3.
