After a subtle and historic win in Australia against Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has congratulated the Indian team and has stated that as a reward for their rare feat, the Test team members will be given bonuses equivalent to the actual match fee payable, i.e. ₹15 Lakh per match for the Playing XI and ₹7.5 Lakh per match for the reserve players.

Virat Kohli became the first Asian captain to win a Test series in the country. The match-winning performances from Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami made all the difference for India.

Along with this, the coaches will be given ₹25 lakh and the members of the Indian support staff will be paid bonuses equivalent to their pro-rata salary/professional fee.

India will now begin their three-match ODI series against Australia, beginning from January 12 (Saturday) and will end the tour in Melbourne on January 18. Then they’ll travel to New Zealand for five ODIs from January 23 followed by three T20s beginning from February 10.
