In regard to the sexual allegations against BCCI CEO Rahul Johri, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly wrote an email to BCCI saying that he feels that Indian cricket is in danger.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) CEO Rahul Johri has been accused of sexual harassment by a former colleague. Recently, former Indian captain and current Cricket Association of Bengal President Sourav Ganguly has opened up on the sexual allegations against Johri. 

In an email to the BCCI Acting President CK Khanna, Secretary Amitabh Chaudhary and Treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry, Ganguly said that he is worried about Indian cricket and said that ‘it is in danger’. Ganguly also expressed disappointment over the way the cricket board has handled the entire issue. 

He further expressed his concern over the fact that the Supreme Court-constituted Committee of Administrators (CoA), comprising of Vinod Rai and Diana Edulji, has divided opinions over the plan of action in the BCCI CEO’s case.

Meanwhile, the issue persists to constantly damage the board’s reputation and therefore, many people have come forward demanding Johri to step down. On the other hand, people from the board have come forward in support of the BCCI CEO and have protested his sacking.  

On October 25, the cricket board had formed a three-member panel comprising of Justice Sharma, former Allahabad High Court judge, Smt. Barkha Singh, former Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women and P. C. Sharma, former Director, CBI, to probe the allegations against Rahul Johri.

Meanwhile, the cricket body has been divided on the decision of Johri stepping down as the CEO. A fraction including Diana Edulji has conveyed that it would be in the best interest of BCCI for Johri to step down from his position whereas his partner Vinod Rai thinks otherwise.
