Soon, former Indian fast bowler, Zaheer Khan could be making a comeback in the Mumbai Indians side again. However, the left-arm pacer will be entering the field as a part of the coaching staff for the Indian Premier League franchise for the 2019 season. According to reports, the Indian pacer is all set to replace Lasith Malinga as the bowling mentor for the Paltans in IPL 2019.

Last year, the Sri Lankan fast bowler had taken up the role of coaching Mumbai Indians after going unsold during the IPL 2018 auctions. He was the bowling mentor under the guidance of compatriot Mahela Jayawardene. However, this year if Malinga is not picked by the three-time winners, then he possibly might play for another franchise.

Similar to Malinga, Zaheer too went unsold in 2018 auctions and after which, if Zaheer completes the move, this will be his first coaching assignment with an IPL team.

The probability of Malinga being shifted to another franchise is high as the cash-rich tournament is said to be transferred to South Africa, UAE in response to the general elections in India. IPL teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings are most likely to bid for the Sri Lankan bowler as they look forward to adding an overseas pacer to their roster.
