IPL 13: 12 members of CSK test positive for coronavirus

IPL is one of the biggest cricketing franchises in the world. This year due to the coronavirus outbreak the thirteenth season had to be put on hold. The organisers recently decided to hold the cricketing tournament in UAE given the number of cases were not coming down in India.

The matches are about to start in the next 22 days and all the teams are flying to UAE for the tournament. The team of Chennai Super Kings recently travelled to the UAE ahead of the match. It has now known that 12 members of the squad have tested positive for coronavirus. These 12 people include the players, the coaching and the support staff. 

So far no details have been shared on who these 12 people are. 

According to the sources, the entire team has been quarantined after the development. "A total of 12 members are have been affected and the entire team has been told to go quarantine again. It is learnt that they got infected during a camp in Chennai," said IANS quoting sources.  

Every team post landing has to take a compulsory six-day quarantine. Chennai Super Kings (CKS) had landed on August 21 and just finished their six-day period and now have been said to go into an extended quarantine.

It is yet to be known that in this case how will the team practise before the matches. The IPL is all set to start from September 19. The new schedule for the matches has not been revealed by BCCI as yet.
