In the encounter between two of the major Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 franchises, Mumbai Indians managed to bag an easy win over Delhi Capitals by 40 runs. An all-round performance from the Pandya brothers, i.e. Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya, helped the visitors reach a defendable total after they won the toss and elected to bat first.

Mumbai received a stable start as Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock stitched a 57-run partnership. Although Delhi bowlers made a comeback in the game by taking wickets at regular intervals, Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya steadily batted till the last over to ensure Mumbai reached a respectable total.

With 168 on board, the hosts were provided with a target of 169 to win the fixture. Despite starting quickly, the Delhi openers failed to encash on the start and failed to convert it into big innings. After which, Mumbai bowlers ensured the collapse of the inexperienced Delhi top-order. Here's a cartoon by Pradeep Mhapsekar talking about Delhi's comical collapse.

Young spinner Rahul Chahar was the top wicket-taker for Mumbai as he added three wickets to his kitty. Alongside, Jasprit Bumrah scalped two wickets, whereas Lasith Malinga, Krunal Pandya, and Hardik Pandya claimed one wicket each. Hardik Pandya was adjudged the Player of the Match.
