The second test match between India-New Zealand is set to take place from Friday, December 3, till Tuesday, December 7, at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. The Maharashtra government, on November 27, Saturday, issued a notice stating that only 25% of crowd capacity will be allowed at the Wankhede Stadium.

An order issued on Saturday, November 27, by the Department of Revenue and Forest, Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation of the state government read that in open spaces, people up to 25% of space capacity will be permitted.  It further read that the concerned District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) shall have the authority to decide the capacity in case of such locations if not declared formally (like stadiums).

The venue players, officials and audience will have to be fully vaccinated and will have to wear mask all the time. They will also have to maintain social distancing.

Earlier, sources in MCA had confirmed to the ANI agency that the state government had permitted them to have 100% capacity for the second Test match. However, post this order, only 25% will be allowed and MCA can now begin its sale of tickets.

This news can spoil the fans' excitement as it will be after five years that Mumbai is hosting a test match. The last test match was played at Wankhede in 2016 against England.
