In a post-match press conference, Mumbai Indians batsman Suryakumar Yadav hinted at a possibility that Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga will be back on the ground to play for Mumbai Indians after he flew to play domestic one-day tournament in Sri Lanka.

Malinga has played three matches for Mumbai Indians this Indian Premier League (IPL) season and has claimed three wickets in their last game against Chennai Super Kings. However, after the win against Chennai, Malinga immediately left for Kandy and played a domestic match where he bagged seven wickets and registered his career-best List-A figures of 7 for 49.

The 35-year-old managed to scalp 10 wickets within 12 hours, which displays his talent as well as his dedication towards cricket. After his departure, there were speculations that Malinga might not participate in the rest of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

I do not think we are missing him for the whole season, not to our notice. He has done well and whenever we get him back, he will again start his service."

Mumbai will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday. Hyderabad is currently sitting on the top of the table after being on a winning streak.
