The development comes after a complaint against Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman was filed for conflict of interest for their dual roles as members of CAC as well as IPL teams
Former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman have been asked to appear in person before the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Ombudsman cum Ethics Officer Justice DK Jain on May 14 for their alleged Conflict of Interest case.
As per the reports, the complainant, Sanjeev Gupta of Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) and, BCCI CEO Rahul Johri have also been called for deposition by Justice Jain.
Earlier, Tendulkar and Laxman were served notices by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s Ombudsman/ Ethics Officer, DK Jain for their alleged 'conflict of interest'. The accusation against the two was serving as both, mentors of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises as well as a member of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
However, both the cricketers denied the accusations and blamed BCCI for the mess as the Board never mentioned before their written submission that there is 'tractable Conflict of Interest" which can be sorted on full disclosure.
