T20 Mumbai League: Aakash Tigers MWS beat Triumphs Knights MNE by five wickets

Despite a brave 90-run knock from batsman Suryakumar Yadav, Triumphs Knights Mumbai North East lost the match as Aakash Tigers MWS chased the 148-run target

In the inaugural match of the T20 Mumbai League, Aakash Tigers MWS beat Triumphs Knights MNE by five wickets. The Tigers were provided with a 148-run target to chase which they completed without any hassle with five wickets in hand.

Earlier in the match, Triumphs Knights MNE have won the toss and have opted to bat. As they batted first, the Knights were reduced to 25-2 at the end of four overs. However, the skipper Suryakumar Yadav played a crucial and solitary knock of 90 runs from 56 balls to help the Knights cross the 147-run mark.

However, the Tigers were able to chase the target with ease as they kept building partnerships without taking risks. While the Knights were able to take five wickets, the Tigers calmly managed to handle the pressure and win the maiden T20 Mumbai League game. 

Despite ending up on the losing side, Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged Player of The Match for his unbeaten 90-run innings.
