Mumbai - Mumbai took a healthy lead of over 100 runs in their semi final match versus Tamil Nadu at Rajkot at stumps on Day 3.
Mumbai scored 406 in their first innings as Shardul Thakur fell in the last over of the day. Mumbai started the day at the score of 171/4, Shreyas Iyer was out early caught behind off the bowling of Vijay Shankar. A century stand between Abhishek Nayar and Aditya Tare took Mumbai beyond 300.
But Taml Nadu bowlers struck back with a couple of wickets and Mumbai were reeling at 321/7. But Balvinder Sandhu and Shardul Thakur hung on and ensured that Mumbai got a lead of 101 runs.
Shardul Thakur was the last man to be dismissed, he made a credible 52.
For Tamil Nadu, Vijay Shankar picked up 4 wickets whereas Baba Aparajit picked up a couple.
Tomorrow will be an interesting day for Mumbai as their bowlers will have a cushion of a 101 run lead to go at the Tamil Nadu batsmen.
