After a shaky start and an inconsistent games initially, Mumbai Indians are having a winning run in Vivo Indian Premier League. Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and captain Dinesh Kartik opted to bowl first.

Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis opened the innings but it was wicketkeeper/batsman Ishan Kishan who stole the show. After MI were 62-2, Kishan along with captain Rohit Sharma raced the visitors to 144 after 14 overs where Kishan scored a whopping half century in 17 balls. He later got out on 62 in just 21 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. Hardik Pandya, Ben Cutting and Rohit Sharma pushed Mumbai to 210/6 in 20 overs.

Piyush Chawla was the pick of the bowlers by bagging 3 wickets for 48 runs. KKR needed 211 to win and they needed their top order to fire right from the start but it wasn't the case when Mumbai took to field.

Sunil Narine was out just after 2 balls to McClenaghan and KKR were 4-1. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals. All bowlers were in the mix with Pandya brothers grabbing two each. Chris Lynn looked like he would drive KKR but was run out after a mix up. Uthappa and Rana were to follow with KKR bowled out for 108.

Mumbai have leaped over KKR to 4th spot on the points table.
