England's explosive opener, Alex Hales has been selected by the Sunrisers Hyderabad as a replacement for Australian batsman David Warner

SRH lost their captain to the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa which subsequently had him banned from the Indian Premier League 2018 by the BCCI along with Steve Smith, who plays for the Rajasthan Royals.

Sunrisers named Kane Williamson to take over the vacant captain's seat.

The English batsman was bought for his base price of ₹1 crore from the Registered and Available Player Pool (RAPP) list.

SRH decided to pick Hales who is the first and only English player till date to score a T20I century. Though it will be very tough to replace Warner who has scored 2579 runs in 59 innings at a whopping average of 52.63 and at a thundering strike-rate of 147.70.

Not just this, he also led SRH to title glory in 2016 and the IPL franchise had used their Right-to-Match card to retain Warner for the 11th edition.
