New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson has been chosen as the new captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad after David Warner was restricted by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from playing the current season of Indian Premier League (IPL).

David Warner, who was involved in the ball tampering scandal along with Australian captain Steve Smith and batsman Cameron Bancroft, was earlier banned from playing international cricket for a year by Australian Cricket Board after the incident came to light.

Both Warner and Smith were forbidden to play in the 11th edition of IPL by BCCI after Australian Cricket Board’s decision.

Kane Williamson hasn’t been much of an aggressive T20 batsman but is a reputed International player and is labelled as one of the “Fab Four”. It remains to be seen how much of an impact does Warner's absence have on SRH this IPL season.
