According to sources, Tiwari had been trying for the last several years for IPL matches in Mumbai. However, in March, with the coronavirus outbreak escalating in Mumbai, the IPL was decided to be played in Dubai instead of India. Having missed this opportunity, Karan was allegedly under mental stress.

As per the Police, Karan called one of his closest friends and told him about the current scenario of his career as a result of which he was depressed and was planning to end his life.

Karan’s friend told all these things to his sister. Both Karan's friend and sister live in Rajasthan. His sifter had informed their mother about this conversation but by then it was too late.
