On Thursday, November 11, the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police nabbed a 36-year-old Nigerian man with contraband that included methaqualone, as well as a banned recreational drug, worth more than INR 6cr, stated an official, reported the PTI.

Based on the report, Inusa Godwin alias Jhon was nabbed from Goregaon’s Aarey Road after the ANC attained a tip that someone was going to be coming there to deliver the drug.

Godwin reportedly has cases already registered against him at many police stations that include Ghatkopar and Azad Maidan units of the ANC, stated an official. Adding that there is a case against him at the Sonegaon police station in Nagpur.

He is believed to have apprised the officials at the ANC that his passport had been seized by a court in another case in the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The official elucidated that a further probe is currently underway.

In other developments, on October 19, the ANC had nabbed a woman for she was claimed to be peddling seven kilograms of heroin in Mumbai. She was arrested from Sion, with the value of the recovered drug claimed to be nearly INR 22cr.
