Recently, Indian officials seized underworld gangster Haseena Parkar's flat at Mumbai's Nagpada. Parkar is Dawood Ibrahim's sister and her property has been seized under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act (SAFEMA). Accordingly, soon the property will be auctioned.

The gangster died in 2014 and after which, the Nagpada property was inherited by her brother, Iqbal. However, in 2017, he was accused by Thane Tribunal team for extortion and was arrested accordingly.

Therefore, under SAFEMA Section 68, the police officials are allowed to seize the property of the accused's relatives which was approved by the Finance Ministry. While Parkar's children approached the court, in April 2018, the Supreme Court ordered the seizure of the house.

Accordingly, now Parkar's Nagpada residence will be auctioned soon.
