Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ashish Shelar recently met Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh to demand action against the drug paddlers and mafia in the metropolitan.
“Shocking #SushantSinghRajput drug revelations! I met Mumbai Police Commissioner to demand Mumbai Police launch a war on drug cartels operating in my Bandra, Khar, Santacruz assembly area,” Shelar tweeted.
Shelar, BJP MLA from Bandra West, has listed the areas under his constituency demanding the Mumbai Police to take action against the illegal drug activity. The letter pointed out that the illegal drugs which were obtained in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput case were in sourced from Bandra.
“During the past five years, I have regularly requested the Mumbai for strong action against illegal drugs and to ‘Drugs, Pubs and Party’ mafia operating in Bandra, Khar, Santacruz and other parts of Mumbai,” the letter read.
The illegal drug network operates at the locality of Bandra Sealink Reclamation Promenade, nearby areas of Nargis Dutt Nagar, Rahul Nagar, areas behind and nearby of Rangshard Hotel Bandra Reclamation.
Shelar said that he had written a detailed letter earlier to Anti-Narcotics cell on March 14, 2020, about it but no action has been taken. The BJP MLA further stated that areas in his constituency have many pubs, bars and restaurants which operate in complete disregard of laws or authorities.
“The tragic death of youth icon and actor Sushant Singh Rajput and revelations of drug cartel mist galvanise Mumbai Police and BMC into action,” the letter read.
