What's the story?

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal’s brother-in-law, Amit Gil was arrested by the Mumbai crime branch in a betting racket on cricket matches. Amit Gil was produced in Esplande Court on Wednesday. He sent to police custody till October 3.He is Arjun Rampal's sister's ex-husband. 

Police were tipped about a betting racket during India vs Sri Lanka on August 24.


Bandra Crime branch on the case 

Bandra crime branch arrested Tarun Thakur, Sunny Thakur and bookie Deepak Kapoor. The crime branch seized 13 cell phones, two laptops and a diary from the Oshiwara location.


Bookie owed Amit Gill 

Amit Gil told the crime branch that Deepak Kapoor owed him INR 20 lakh and recover that amount, he bet on the cricket match.


Software to go scotfree

A software engineer developed a software called ‘Bingo’ which was difficult for the police to trace. According to the crime branch, people involved in the racket had links to Delhi, Ahmadabad and Dubai.

Arjun Rampal was recently seen portraying gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli in the film 'Daddy'.
