According to information received from Charkop police, the gang of fake movers and packers used to cheat the customers such as Charkop resident Chandni Chheda and Ghatkopar resident Chetan Parmar. The fraudsters used to book the household items and instead of sending them to respective places, used to hide the items in Naigaon and Vasai through the help of their agents. Police have recovered goods worth Rs 9 lakh from them. At the moment, three vicious tricksters have come in the police custody, who were working as fake movers and packers company in order to cheat people.

Chandni, who runs a textile business in Kutch, in Gujarat, says that on April 25, he called on the number of Gopal Krishna Packers Company from Just Dial Company. She stated that she got the discount of Rs 1,000 on Rs 10,000 and ordered them to shift the items to Gujarat.

According to Chandni, she wanted to leave the TV and a fridge at her mother's house. Chandni immediately called the Charkop police after the incident. However, the Charkop Police have assured that 70% of the household items will be recovered.

After this, the CCTV camera and the number of Packers and Movers companies present in the city were thoroughly investigated and it was found that some suspected packers of companies from Vikhroli and Ghatkopar were involved in this type of work.
