A drunk man stripped off his clothes at the Borivali police station to focus attention on his demands. Curiously, he was neither attended to nor booked by the police.
Sources say DCP Vikram Singh Deshmane and senior police inspectors were present at the station at the time. Eyewitnesses say the incident occurred on Thursday between 2 and 4 pm when the drunk entered the police station premises and started abusing the police personnel. None of the staff tried to stop him. Interestingly, children gathered around him and tried to douse him with water in an effort to sober him up.
Does the duty of the police stop at booking the more serious crimes in the city? A drunk on its steps is merely a blink on its radar?
