The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has failed in its duty of maintaining security during exams as consecutively for the second time, HSC’s Chemistry question paper has been leaked.

In connection with the same, Bhoiwada police arrested four people along with one minor. A 25-year-old woman has been arrested as well.

What’s The Story?

On February 28, 2018, a 17-year-old Maharshi Dayanand College student was found in a bathroom fidgeting with his mobile phone, few hours before the exam. Seeing the student busy with his mobile phone, professor Dharmesh Mehta asked the student to hand over the device. Seeing the mobile, Mehta realised that the student was sharing the Chemistry question paper of 2018 on Whatsapp. 

Acting on the complaint filed by college teacher Dharmesh Satish Mehta (49), Bhoiwada Police registered an offence under section 5 (1) of Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and other specified Examinations Act, 1982, Section 5 (1), (2) and section 72 of Information Technology Act, informed S Jaykumar, additional commissioner of police, Central Region.

After an interrogation, Bhoiwada police arrested a 17-year-old on March 2, 2018 and after investigating his mobile phone, they arrested one minor boy along with Subodh Jha (26) from Ghatkopar, Mahesh Dinesh Gupta (26) from Dombivali, Shilpa Bharat Tiwari (25) from Ghatkopar and Mohammed Mehfuz Abdul Hakin Sheikh (40) from Mumbra. Along with this, Bhoiwada police are looking out for one more suspect Rahul, who is on the run.
