A video is doing rounds where a man can be seen mercilessly beating a woman in a running local train. Along with the assault, the video also captured people who were busy watching the drama and enjoying the scene.
Victim Nazia Ansari and accused Rafique Ali Khan together boarded the CSTM-bound train from Dombivali and were traveling in the handicap coach. After a while, both started bickering and the accused — who was in the inebriated state — started hitting the victim. According to the police, the accused owed the woman a large amount of money.
Meanwhile, another passenger recorded the incident on his mobile phone and informed Dadar GRP police, who then nabbed the accused at Dadar and rescued the victim.
We have arrested the accused have registered a case under sections 307, 354, 323, 506 of IPC,” Nitin Bobde, senior PI, Dadar police station.
According to the police, accused and the victim knew each other for the last few years. Accused Rafique had borrowed ₹1 lakh from the victim, who was asking for her money. But the accused was refusing to return it. On Thursday, the victim once again demanded her money and the accused started assaulting her.
