In an unfortunate update, a major accident has taken place at Crawford Market in South Mumbai. As per reports, four people died and four others were injured after a car ran over pedestrians before smashing into the wall of Cafe Janata in Crawford Market on Monday night.

The car driver, identified as Sameer Diggy, also sustained injuries. After the accident, several policemen were deployed at the spot. The driver was further arrested by the police.

According to the locals, the car was coming at a high speed from the side of the Sadanand Hotel and entered Cafe Janata Restaurant. Moreover, the car blew up 4 to 5 people even before entering the restaurant. The dead and injured have been shifted to JJ Hospital, sources said.

Furthermore, the people passing by commented that the collision of the car was so fast that the radiator of the car exploded. The car could not reach the kitchen of the restaurant inside, otherwise, due to the presence of gas cylinders, it could have been worse.

However, according to the police, Diggy had earlier been booked in another car accident by the JJ Marg police, when he had rammed into a truck. There were no casualties then. Diggy has now been arrested by the Police and an investigation is ongoing to determine the reason for the accident.
