Addressing the hotel association, Thackeray stated, in “Mission Begin Again” there have been certain economic relaxations in the state. He added that the hotel industry is a major industry in the tourism business in Maharashtra. Therefore, soon, a plan of action will be in place with regards to reviving the business.

The CM added that the hoteliers will have to ensure responsibility and make sure that every person who comes to the hotel is healthy because if a sick customer comes, then all the staff of the hotel can fall ill due to the contagious nature of the disease. Proper protocols and social distancing measures must be followed to ensure safety for all. Thackeray further asked the hotels to not remove the local employees assuring that the trade unions will cooperate with each other in this time of crisis. On the occasion, Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray said that the hotel industry is very important for the tourism business adding that the tourism business can stimulate the development of the state.

Meanwhile, Gurbaxish Singh Kohli of the Indian Hotels Association has stated that the industry now needs working capital. Stressing on the impact the coronavirus has had on the hotel industry, Kohli stated that the industry largely consists of the migrant workers, therefore, this lockdown has had a huge impact on them.
