A 24-year old woman was arrested with 109 grams of cocaine valued at ₹11 lakh on October 3. The woman was apprehended by Unit 7 of Mumbai Police as part of the city’s crackdown on the peddling of illegal drugs.

The accused, known as Manjusha Singh reportedly came to Mumbai around year ago and has been living in Shivaji Nagar (Govandi). It is also said that she was working at a beauty parlour in the same region.

Investigations revealed that Singh came in contact with a wanted drug peddler after undergoing financial trouble who later asked her to work on his behalf. It is said that she received ₹10,000 for a single delivery of cocaine while she is said to have delivered the consignment twice on the peddler’s instructions. As per an officer, Singh has said that she doesn’t know the people the drugs were delivered to.
