On Monday, June 24, Mumbai Sessions Court rejected the bail plea filed by the accused in Dr. Payal Tadvi's Suicide Case. Accordingly, the court has ordered for an extended 14-day judicial custody of Dr. Hema Ahuja, Dr. Ankita Khandelwal, and Dr. Bhakti Meher. After which, the three doctors broke into tears in the courtroom.

The state government had opposed the bail plea filed by the accused doctors who had stated that approving their bail during such a crucial time of the investigation would be inappropriate. Accordingly, the court has decided to extend the three doctors' judicial custody till July 6.
