The official process of carrying out the auction for a flat owned by Haseena Parker, the sister of wanted underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, has been initiated. Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act (SAFEMA) on March 25 completed its inspection of the flat, which is located at Garden Hall Apartment in Nagpada.  

Parker lived in this house until her demise in the year 2014 while Dawood also lived in the same flat until he escaped from India. Earlier in 2017, Encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma arrested Iqbal Kaskar from the same house. 

The nomination to buy the property can be filed till March 28 and the auction process will start on April 1. In order to participate in the auction, the interested parties are supposed to deposit ₹30 lakh and ₹1.69 crore has been fixed as the price of the flat.

The Central Board of India (CBI) was trying to seize the flat which was purchased by Dawood since 1997. However, the matter was being heard in court while Haseena Parker kept living the house carrying out her business.

After the matter went to the Supreme Court, the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) and SAFEMA were able to get possession of the house.
