Parts of two old desi bombs found in Mumbai Central

The bombs were found during a routine metro construction work in Mumbai Central. The parts have been sent to a forensic lab in Kalina for further investigations and tests.

Over the last few decades, the city has seen a lot of violence wherein several bombs had blast taking the lives of many. Today, as the people have moved on by keeping their spirit high, one part of the city was concerned with what they assumed to be desi bombs which were found in Mumbai Central.

Mumbai Live received information in the night that parts of two old bombs were found in Mumbai Central, near the metro station construction, on December 10, 2018. Information received from the concerned authority and department said that at about 4:00 PM, Mukesh Kumar, who was deployed at BCT Main Gate, informed the duty officer about some suspicious explosive materials which were found during the digging and excavation work of Metro Line, just outside of Mumbai Central Railway Station.

On being informed, the staff of BCT post along with dog squad reached the location and informed Nagpada Police. Senior PI of Nagpada Police with his team and BDDS member of Maharashtra Police reached the spot on time. PSI Nilesh Shevale prepared the required documents and seized suspicious article for further investigation.

Material suspected to be a crude bomb has been sent to the forensic science lab at Kalina for certain tests.
