Police bust liquor smuggling, seize bottles worth INR 14.39 lakh

The Bharari team of the State Excise Department arrested a smuggler of expensive foreign liquor from Delhi to Mumbai. The team was able to seize as many as 205 bottles of foreign liquor from the smuggler's car and house.


Bharari Squad-2 received information that a person was illegally possessing stock of foreign liquor from Delhi. On getting information that the person would be coming to Worli, the team under the guidance of Inspector Prakash Kale caught Satish Shivlal Patel (35) in Worli while smuggling foreign liquor in a motor vehicle. When his car was searched, some bottles of liquor were found.

Later, Satish said that more liquor was stocked in the house under investigation. Accordingly, the team searched Satish's luxurious house in Andheri Lokhandwala and found 108 bottles of various foreign liquor companies. Those bottles of foreign scotch worth around 14 lakh 39 thousand rupees and the car used in the crime have also been seized.


The stock of foreign liquor found with Satish was brought from Gurgaon to Delhi and from Delhi to Mumbai by rail. A person named Mohammed demands liquor and brings it to Mumbai. Officers said that Satish gave the information during the investigation that he then gives the liquor to me to sell it in Mumbai. The Bharari team is searching for Mohammad.
