Bollywood actor Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty have been facing several problems with regards to Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. However, as per development reported on Friday, September 4, Showik Chakraborty and Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda have been arrested were arrested after the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) questioned them regarding drug allegations.
A team of officials from NCB and the police department raided both their houses in the morning on Friday. The raid was led by NCB Deputy Director of operations, KPS Malhotra, who informed that their houses were being searched was a part of the 'procedural' action. The team followed all safety protocols amidst the coronavirus outbreak.
Reports also state that officials are trying to find out additional pieces of evidence, whereby some documents have been seized. Summons have been handed over to Showik and Miranda. They were asked to join the investigation and were further questioned by the agency.
As of now, Zaid Vilatra and Abdel Basit Parihar have been arrested by the NCB with regards to drugs, however, Kaizan Ibrahim has been detained for further questioning.
Actress Rhea Chakraborthy has been questioned for over a few weeks now with regards to Sushant's death, and several teams including NCB, ED and CBI have been looking into the matter. Reports related to her mobile phones were shared by the ED, after which the respective angle was handed over to NCB under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The conversations from the mobile phone history are said to have revealed important information related to drugs.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment in Bandra, on June 14, 2020. It was earlier said that he died by suicide, however, claims which were made later led to the current investigations.
