The Naya Nagar Police has submitted a 1200-page charge sheet in the Thane Sessions Court in the Saraswati Vaidya murder case at Mira Road. Accused Manoj Sane killed his 'live-in partner' Saraswati Vaidya by poisoning him. Her body was then cut into numerous pieces by a saw and cooked in a cooker. Police have examined a total of 62 witnesses in this case.


Meera Road Manoj Sane (56) was living in a live-in relationship with Saraswati Sane (32). On June 3, he killed Saraswati and cut her body into numerous pieces with a saw. He was cooking in a cooker to separate the bones and meat. Police found numerous pieces in the house. It was full of cookers, 3 pans and 2 buckets. The situation came to light after the neighbours noticed the stench.


Manoj Sane was arrested by the Naya Nagar police. Although the police recovered evidence from the scene itself, several medical and forensic tests were required to prove the charges. Manoj Sane was misleading the police. As the body was cut into numerous pieces and cooked, it became challenging for the police to obtain medical evidence. Finally, the police have completed the investigation and submitted the charge sheet to the court.

1200 pages, 68 witnesses

Naya Nagar Police has prepared a charge sheet of around 1200 pages and submitted it to the Thane Sessions Court. A total of 68 people have responded. It contains the statements of the shopkeepers from which the poison, cutter, plastic was taken. The statements of the forensic staff have been recorded from the neighbours. Accused Manoj Sane had been quarrelling with Saraswati Vaidya for 6 months before the murder. So he planned to kill Saraswati. Poison was administered from buttermilk. Later, her body was dismembered and disposed of, the chargesheet said. After the murder, Sane took 35 photographs with the dead body. The police recovered the photographs after sending them to the mobile forensic laboratory.
