Two residents of Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) were tricked by the same Ola driver on their way to work.

Viraj Prasad, a Chartered Accountant had booked an Ola from his residence to travel to his office in Prabhadevi. When he called the driver to enquire about where he had reached, the driver responded by saying that he was unable to track his location and then asked him to share his OTP via message. Viraj's Ola app was disabled as soon as he shared his OTP and he realised later that he had lost ₹10,000 from his Ola money account.

Nitin Mathur, a finance executive lost ₹4,000 in a similar way through the same driver. A complaint has been filed in Meghwadi police station.

Ola has claimed to have suspended the driver.

Notably, Ola constantly engages with customers to educate them to not share any personal information like login details and OTP. Ola executives never claim these details. Once the user calls the driver, the driver becomes aware of their number and it can be misused if the customer shares his OTP as well.
