Residents from several areas of Bandra have complained about theft over the last few days. It is said that the security guards are attacked and robbed. Complaints have been registered at Bandra Police Station.

Amidst the going to the coronavirus crisis in Mumbai, some residents of Bandra have been facing another problem. Over the last few days, residents of some areas of the locality have reported robbery and the increasing incidents have developed a fear for many residential societies. 

As per recent reports, some buildings in parts of Bandra were robbed and security guards were targetted. It is said that guards of these high-rise buildings were being beaten up and robbed. Complaints have been registered at the police stations.

In one of the recent incidents, a security guard of Sameer building on Bandra's Pari Road was called by three strangers at around 2 PM, on Tuesday, who then asked him for an address, and eventually hit him after security guard came out of the gate. They then fled with his mobile phone and some money. After the security guard informed the building secretary, the complaint was lodged against them

Residents of several other areas were also informed about similar incidents and are now under alert. On June 3, 2020, some men broke into a residential complex in Bandra's Pumphouse area and robbed a security guard. The incident of them stealing his mobile phone and salary was captured on CCTV cameras. i

In a conversation with Mumbai Live, Abhishek Trimukhe, Deputy Commissioner of Police - Circle 9, said that a case has been registered against the accused at Bandra police station.

Further, officials have been instructed to increase patrols and these areas. Besides this, residential organizations have also given whistles to security guards and ask them to use them at night, as this would keep the residents and the area alert during the late hours.
