Recently, a Pune-based businessman had filed a police complaint against Gawli gang members for threatening him and making extortion calls. The investigation led to the members and gangster Arun Gawli’s wife Asha Gawli aka "mummy", who then applied for pre-arrest bail at Khed court.

The court accepted her bail and had given her a time frame of two days.

However, another businessman has come in front and has filed a police complaint against Asha Gawli, Mobin Muzawar, Suraj Yadav, Omkar Panchras, Gorakh Pokharkar, and another 4-5 people. He told the police that Mobin used to extort money at Dagadi Chawl and used to give him death threats as well.

What's The Story?

Victim Savraram Naik resides at Pune’s Loni Dhamni with his family and owns petrol pump and wine shops. Apart from this, he has bought 36-acre land. However, Naik suffers from a kidney ailment, hence his brother Anil handles his business. Meanwhile, Anil was threatened by Muzawar, Suraj Yadav, Onkar Panchras, Gorakh Pokharkar to give ₹5 lakh but Anil did not pay attention.

On February 5, 2018, all accused vandalised Anil’s wine shop. He then went to the local sarpanch who asked him to file a complaint with the police. Likewise, he decided to go to the police. However, Mobin told Anil that if he went to the police, he would kill him. Naik and his family then thought of settling the matter by paying them.

Accordingly, he was asked to go Dagadi Chawl and meet Asha Gawli.

On February 24, Mobin did not introduce Anil to Asha Gawli, instead, he asked for ₹5 lakh as an extortion amount. When Anil expressed interest to meet Asha Gawli, Mobin forcibly took ₹3.5 lakh and asked him to hand over the pending amount some other time. Likewise, Mobin caught Anil in a village fair and threatened him to hand over the remaining amount, terrified of the approach, he handed over ₹50,000.

When Naik found out that another businessman - Sunil Kochar - had filed a police complaint against Gawli gang members, he was encouraged to file one himself on April 22.
