On Wednesday, December 15, Maharashtra cabinet minister, Aaditya Thackeray took to Twitter to announce that 11 Mumbai Public Schools of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have attained an affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

Thackeray remarked, “This news is truly wonderful as it further strengthens our dream to provide quality education in BMC schools.”

The list of schools that have received the said accreditation includes MPS Chikuwadi, MPS Jankalyan Nagar, MPS Pratiksha Nagar, MPS Poonam Nagar, MPS Mithagar, MPS Hariyali Village, MPS Rajawadi, MPS Aziz Baug, MPS Tunga Village, MPS Bhavanishankar and MPS Kane Nagar.

Thackeray, however, believes that this is just the beginning and that the civic authority will work to ensure that schools meet international standards. He added, “As we now work with SSC, CBSE boards in BMC, we also look forward to working with ICSE, Cambridge, and IB boards to provide a variety of quality, free education for every child learning in the BMC school.”

Thackeray’s proposition to all the boards imparting education in BMC says, “hold onto the ideals of quality education, a spirit of learning, learning the Marathi language, and the overall development of a child’s quest to dream big.”
