As per reports, Sanyam Bhardwaj, the Controller of Examinations, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) asserted that as of now the board has no plans to delay the board examinations 2021.

This comes in the midst of growing speculations with regards to the CBSE examinations. Moreover, Bhardwaj confirmed that the class 10 and 12 examinations will be held in the months of February and March. His statement comes a week after CBSE confirmed that the board examinations 2021 would be conducted offline. The CBSE’s Controller or Examinations further added that there is a possibility that students will get more gap days between their exams than last year due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Varsha Gaikwad, Maharashtra Education Minister, speaking to the media had earlier stated that the class 10 and class 12 board examinations will be conducted in the offline mode only.

She further stated that it would not be feasible to alter the pattern of the SSC and HSC examinations. Gaikwad, speaking about the dates for the same, added that the government is trying its best to conduct the examinations between the months of April and May. Usually, the board examinations are conducted in the months of February and March. However, most of the examinations have been postponed this year due to the pandemic situation.

Meanwhile, In the past, Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had announced that the schools in Mumbai would remain closed until December 31, in view of COVID-19. Responding to the same, Gaikwad had clarified that the local authorities will be responsible for making a decision on reopening schools in their respective areas after assessing the situation.
