Maharashtra has been under the coronavirus lockdown from March 2020, and amidst this phase, several scheduled plans have changed, some of them are related to the educational department. On one there, there is confusion about final-year university exams, and on the other, standard 10 and 12 (SSC and HSC) students are waiting for the results to be announced.

Earlier this month, Maharashtra's Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad confirmed with Mumbai Live, that the announcement of SSC and HSC board exam results was now rescheduled to July 2020. Due to the ongoing lockdown, the evaluation of exam papers was delayed by a considerable number of days. After reconsidering and analysing the possibility, the government began paper correction.

As per developments, it is now said that the correction of Secondary and Higher Secondary exam papers is in progress and 85 per cent of the answer sheet assessment work has been completed.

Thought several cities in Maharashtra are marked as containment zones or red zones, government officials and teachers have shown interest in finding a solution to the problem. However, there has been no update about the date of announcing the results. Out of the total 9 divisional boards in the state, Mumbai divisional board has the highest number of students.

The Mumbai Division started its work from Palghar districts and then to Raigad, Thane City, Thane Suburbs, Mumbai City and Mumbai Suburbs.

The results were expected to come out on June 10, however, the government took necessary steps to ensure safety of the teachers. Further, keeping the lockdown in mind, the department also cancelled the final examination, i.e., geography paper, of class 10, and students will be marked based on aggregates.
