Mumbai: Junior colleges planning to resume offline learning in a phase-wise manner

On Monday, few colleges called students for practicals; however, they have not resumed offline learning completely, while FYJC will continue having online classes for some time.

The schools across the state have resumed physical classrooms on Monday, October 4; however, most of the junior colleges are planning to resume offline learning in a phase-wise manner.

Principals have said that resuming colleges with large batches in a hybrid model would not be attainable as each class contains around 120 students. Few junior colleges resumed offline on Monday but for science practicals. 

Principals of few colleges have stated that travelling in trains without vaccination will be a problem for students, and as well as for teachers. First Year Junior College (FYJC) will continue having online classes for some time.

According to the reports, on Monday, October 4, around 150 HSC of Andrews College, Mumbai, went to college for science practicals. Marie Fernandes, while addressing the media, said the students are allowed on premises with consent letters from parents, and they are looking forward to gradually increase the numbers. 

They have around 120 students in each of the 14 divisions of FYJC, unlike the junior colleges that are attached to schools that have around 30 to 40 students in each class, she further added.

St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, had called FYJC students to the campus for document submission and for them to get acquainted with the college on Monday.
