These are the revised norms of MPSC's Physical Test for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police

The MPSC's latest eligibility criteria states that to pass the physical test for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (PSI), at least 60 per cent of the total marks (i.e. 60 marks) will be required to be eligible for the next round of interview.

On May 25, the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) issued a notification on its revised norms of the eligibility criteria for the physical test in the recruitment process for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (PSI).

It has been published by the State Public Service Commission on its website.


To pass the physical test for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (PSI), at least 60 per cent of the total marks (i.e. 60 marks) will be required to be eligible for the next round of interview. However, these marks will not be considered in the final round selection. If the sum of the total marks in all these physical tests is in fractions, the result of the physical test will be prepared by keeping it in fractions.

Moreover, the knowledge of the Marathi language is essential and candidates between the age group of 19-28 are eligible.

Details of the physical test standards:

Male Candidates

Shot put - Weight 7.260 kg. - Maximum score - 15

Pullups - Maximum score - 20

Long jump - Maximum score - 15

Running (800 meters) - Maximum score - 50

Female Candidates:

Shot put - Weight 4 kg - Maximum score - 20

Running (400 meters) - Maximum score - 50

Long Jump - Maximum score - 30

Meanwhile, Physical fitness criteria for male candidates include Height: 165 CM (approximately), Chest (Lower): 79 CM, Chest (Higher): 84 CM (Minimum Expansion of 5 CM). While, for females, the height should be 157 CM (approximately).
